I believe that these authors and directors illustrate being a teenager somewhat accurately. Of course to make the story more interesting all elements of the movie/book are embellished. Most lives of teens are not like that, but with that said, the basic concept behind everything is very relatable to a teen's life. The television show that I think accurately depicts being a teenager is Saved by the Bell. It shows a group of teenage friends in their everyday lives. It shows the common conflicts that a teenager goes through on a regular basis. The most admirable thing about this show is that it is interesting without the dramatization of most teenage movies. I think Saved by the Bell is the closest that any movie/tv show has gotten to display the life of an average teenager.
